We here at Bobby Duke LLC, DBA munpi.com/, use an Exotic Hardwood — Tigerwood, also known as Goncalo Alves. It’s a heavy and fine-grained South American wood (it will sink in water). It is dense and quite strong. It is known for its rich honey-golden base with stripes, bands and sometimes ropey swirls of darker chocolate to near black grain. This is a visually appealing wood.
Tigerwood is an extremely durable exotic hardwood that is naturally resistant to rot and decay. This great durability leads to a 30+ year lifespan without preservatives! It is a dramatic and durable hardwood. Each stave has its own unique color, markings, and character.
